Beat blue Mondays

..by not sleeping in on Sundays, say sleep scientists. Sleeping in an extra three hours at the weekend throws off your circadian rythms (the body's internal clock) so you have a harder time waking up and feel sleepier on a Monday. If you're sleepy at weekends, you're better off taking an afternoon nap!

Ice it up

If you find yourself flagging halfway through your workout, drink a cup of ice water, UK researchers found that cyclists who sipped an icy drink where able to work out 7 minutes longer than those hydrated with a beverage at room temperature. When your body gets too warm, your body tells it to stop says lead researcher Dr Toby Mundel
