Create abstract art in an hour

Hey, everybody gets bored, right?

You will need:

3 square canvasses
White PVA
Small sponge roller
Water colours in 3 shades (they used, blue, light blue and turqouise)
Artist's paintbrush
Coarse and fine salt
Cotton bud
Surgical spirits
Dark Gouache or craft paint

  1. Paint the canvases white using a small sponge roller, then leave to dry
  2. Place the canvases side by side and use the watercolours to paint a flowing pattern across all three. Blend the different shades of blue watercolours as you go
  3. Sprinkle the two types of salt over the canvases while the paint is still wet to add depth and texture. The coarse salt will cause the paint to collect in places, while the finer variety will cause it to disperse. Dip a cotton bud in a little surgical spirits and dab it onto the canvases here and there to create the bleached areas (it looks like rings) Once you are satisfied with the composition, leave to dry
  4. Paint the edges of the canvasses with a dark gouche, to round off
This looks nice in a bathroom....
