 Baked Macaroni and Prawns

Give an old favourite like macaroni an inspirational twist by adding prawns. Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet Knorr Macaroni & Cheese – Cheese & Bacon flavour
  • 310 ml water
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 175 g mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
    125 ml milk
  • 30 ml margarine
  • 4 leeks, sliced and cut into pieces
  • 175 g prawns, peeled
  • Salt and pepper to season
Instructions
  1. Mix the contents of the Knorr Macaroni & Cheese sauce sachet, the pasta, milk, water and margarine together and bring to the boil
  2. Simmer for 8–10 min stirring occasionally until cooked
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the leeks, mushrooms and prawns
  4. Mix the pasta with the leeks, mushrooms and prawns
  5. Place in an ovenproof dish
  6. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top
  7. Bake at 180°C for 25 min or until golden brown

 

Cheese, Smoked Ham, Spring Onion and Mushroom Pasta.

Serves 2 | Preparation Time: 2 mins | Cooking Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 x 130 g packet Knorr Cheese, Smoked Ham & Mushroom Pasta & Sauce
  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • 375 ml water
  • 150 g smoked ham, chopped
  • 30 ml margarine
  • 125 ml milk
Instructions
  1. Place the milk, water and margarine in a saucepan and bring to the boil
  2. Add the contents of the packet and cook over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
  3. Stir in the chopped ham
  4. Simmer for a further 5 minutes and add the spring onions
  5. Remove from the heat, cover and stand for 2 minutes

 

Cheesy Chicken, Bacon and Spring Onion Pasta

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 x 254 g box Knorr Mince Mate Three Cheeses
  • 300 g chicken, cubed
  • 800 ml hot water
  • 1 bunch spring onions
  • 200 g bacon, diced
  • 15 ml oil
Instructions
  1. In a large frying pan, fry the chicken and bacon in oil
  2. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 800 ml hot water, and the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 min, stirring occasionally
  4. Stir in the chopped spring onions

 

 

 

 

Chicken, Butternut and Feta Lasagne

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 box Knorr Chicken Lasagne Mate
  • 250 ml feta cheese
  • 400 g butternut
    500 g chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 15 ml oil
Instructions
  1. Empty the contents of the cheese sauce sachet into a jug, fill to 400 ml with boiling water and stir for 1 min
  2. Cube the butternut and microwave in a little water on high for 7 min
  3. In a large pan, brown the onion and chicken breasts in oil
  4. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 600 ml hot water, butternut and pasta to the chicken
  5. Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 min
  7. Pour into a 2-litre oven dish
  8. Pour cheese sauce over and sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese
  9. Grill for 10 min or bake for 20 min at 180°C

 

 

Chicken, Corn and Pepper Lasagne

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 20 mins | Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 box Knorr Chicken Lasagne Mate
  • 250 ml Cheddar cheese
  • 200 g corn kernels
  • 15 ml oil
  • 500 g chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
Instructions
  1. Empty the contents of the cheese sauce sachet into a jug, fill to 400 ml with boiling water and stir for 1 min
  2. In a large pan, brown the onion, sliced chicken breasts and red pepper in oil
  3. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 600 ml hot water and the pasta to the chicken
  4. Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 min
  6. Pour into a 2-litre oven dish, pour cheese sauce over and sprinkle with grated cheese

  3. Add the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 min, add the defrosted spinach and simmer for another 5 min until the pasta is cooked

 

Chicken, Piquant Peppers and Feta pasta

Traditional South African sweet piquant peppers are combined with feta to make this pasta a tasty delight.

Greek Lamb Pasta

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 20 mins | Cooking Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 x 500 g bottle Knorr Unbelievable Bolognaise Cook-In-Sauce
  • 400 g lean lamb mince
  • 400 ml boiling water
  • Nutmeg to taste
  • 25 ml oil
  • 1 x 38 g sachet Knorr Classic White Sauce
  • 10 ml ground Cinnamon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 200 g macaroni
  • 2 eggs
    Instructions
  1. Fry the onions in oil until tender, add the meat and brown
  2. Add the Knorr Unbelievable Sauce and cinnamon
  3. Simmer on low heat for 20 min
  4. In a jug, add the boiling water to the Knorr Classic White Sauce, and stir until thick
  5. When cool, whisk in the beaten eggs, season with nutmeg
  6. Cook the macaroni and drain
  7. Grease a casserole dish and place the macaroni in it
  8. Top with the meat sauce and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon
  9. Pour the white sauce over to cover
  10. Bake for 40 min or until firm

Ingredients

  • 200 g butternut cut into small cubes and microwaved for 5 minutes
  • 200 g courgettes, cubed
  • 800 ml hot water
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 15 ml oil
  • 1 x 251 g box Knorr Mince Mate Fruity Chutney Curry
  • 1 red pepper, cubed
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 75 ml milk
Instructions
  1. In a large saucepan, fry the onion, pepper, carrot and courgette in oil for 5 min
  2. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 800 ml hot water and the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 min, stirring occasionally
  4. Empty the contents of the topping mix sachet in a jug and add the cold milk
  5. Stir until smooth, allow to stand and thicken
  6. Spoon evenly onto the top of hot vegetable curry

 

Wild Mushroom, Ham and Asparagus Pasta

  • 2 tins tuna in brine
  • 3 tomatoes, cubed
  • 250 ml Cheddar cheese

  1. In a large saucepan, add the sachet of seasoning mix, 800 ml hot water, and the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil
  2. Add the tuna and tomatoes

Thai Green Noodles

Serves 2 | Preparation Time: 15 mins | Cooking Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet Knorr Pasta & Sauce - Sour Cream & Chives
  • 300 g chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 125 ml milk
  • 100 g green beans cut into 3 cm lengths
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Thai green curry paste
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) margarine
  • 310 ml water
Instructions
  1. Stir-fry chicken strips and onion in the olive oil until chicken is just cooked, 4–5 min
  2. Add the green beans and toss until beans are heated through but still crunchy
  3. Prepare the pasta & sauce using the milk and water according to sachet instructions
  4. Stir in the green Thai curry paste and stir-fried chicken and beans
  5. Allow to heat through and serve immediately

 

Tagliatelle with Creamy Prawn, Arrabiata and Coriander

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 40 mins | Cooking Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 x 500 g Knorr Unbelievable Bolognaise Cook-In-Sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Coriander to garnish
  • Oil as needed
  • 300 ml cream
  • 5 ml dried crushed chillies
  • 50 ml coriander, chopped
  • 800 g tagliatelle
  • 500 g prawns
    Instructions
  1. Peel and devein the prawns
  2. In a pan, heat the Knorr Unbelievable Sauce
  3. Turn down the heat, add the prawns and crushed chilli and simmer until cooked
  4. Turn off heat, add cream and chopped coriander
  5. Adjust seasoning if needed
  6. Bring salted water to the boil
  7. Add tagliatelle and cook until al dente
  8. Drain and rinse with cold water
  9. Toss in oil
  10. Mix with sauce and garnish with coriander

 

Spinach, Butternut and Feta Lasagne

Ingredients

  • 1 box Knorr Chicken Lasagne Mate
  • 300 ml feta cheese
  • 300 g butternut
  • 300 g spinach, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 15 ml oil
    Instructions
  1. Empty the contents of the cheese sauce sachet into a jug, fill to 400 ml with boiling water and stir for 1 min
  2. Cube the butternut and microwave on high for 7 min
  3. In a large pan, fry the onion and spinach in oil
  4. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 600 ml hot water, butternut and pasta to the spinach
  5. Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 min
  7. Pour into a 2-litre oven dish
  8. Pour cheese sauce over and sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese
  9. Grill for 10 min or bake for 20 min at 180°C

 

 

South Coast Marinara

Serves 2 | Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet Knorr Pasta & Sauce - Alfredo
  • 3 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 15 ml freshly chopped herbs
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) margarine
  • 50 g feta cheese
  • 125 ml milk
  • 4-5 olives, pips removed and sliced
  • 300 g Marinara seafood mix
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • Croûtons (optional)
  • 375 ml water

    Instructions

1.      Stir-fry seafood mix and spring onions in the olive oil until just cooked, 4–5 min

2.      Prepare the pasta & sauce using the milk and water according to sachet instructions

3.      Stir in the fried seafood and spring onions

4.      Allow to heat through and place in serving dishes

5.      Combine crumbled feta, sliced olives, croûtons and herbs

6.      Sprinkle over the pasta

Smoky Bacon and Cheddar Pasta with Chorizo and Piquant Peppers

  • 500 g chorizo, sliced
  • 300 g mince
  • 125 ml piquant peppers, chopped

  1. In a large frying pan, fry the mince and chorizo in oil for about 5 min
  2. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 800 ml hot water, and the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil

Smoky Bacon and Cheddar Mince with Butternut

  • 150 ml grated cheese
  • 200 g bacon, diced
  • 800 ml hot water
  • 400 g butternut, cut into small cubes
  • 300 g chicken, cubed
  • 150 ml breadcrumbs
  • 15 ml oil
Instructions
  1. In a large frying pan, fry the chicken, bacon and butternut in oil for about 4 min or until the butternut starts to feel soft
  2. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 800 ml hot water, and the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
  4. Transfer into a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs and grated cheese and grill for 4 min

 

Simple Sundried Tomato Pasta

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 125 ml marinated, sundried tomatoes
  • 1 sachet Knorr Pasta & Sauce – Sour Cream & Chives
  • 310 ml water
  • 250 ml fresh basil leaves
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • ½ red pepper, finely diced
  • 125 ml milk
  • 30 ml margarine
  • 1 round feta cheese
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 1 min
  3. Add tomatoes, red pepper, milk, water and margarine and bring to the boil
  4. Add sachet contents and stir continuously until boiling
  5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 8–10 min, stirring occasionally
  6. Remove from the stove, cover and stand for 2 min as pasta will thicken on standing
  7. Stir in fresh basil leaves and crumble feta cheese over

  • 1 can (415 g) salmon, drained and flaked

  • ½ cup (125 ml) grated cheese
  • 250 ml water

  1. Prepare the pasta and sauce using the margarine, milk and water according to sachet instructions

  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 box Knorr Tuna Mate, Cheddarmelt
  • 1 x tin asparagus spears
  • 125 ml croûtons
  • 800 ml water
  • 1 x tin salmon
  • 1 round feta cheese
Instructions
  1. Place the milk, water and Knorr Tuna Mate sachet of sauce mix into a saucepan and bring to the boil, then add the pasta and simmer until cooked
  2. Add the flaked salmon
  3. Lay half the mixture in an ovenproof dish, lay the asparagus spears on top, then add the rest of the pasta
  4. Top with crumbled feta cheese and croûtons and grill for about 10 min before serving

 

Mouth Watering Chicken Lasagne

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet Knorr Chicken & Mushroom Cook-in-Sauce
  • 8–10 green lasagne sheets
  • 250 g sliced mushrooms
  • 500 g chicken cubes
  • 200 ml cold milk
  • 250 ml grated Cheddar cheese
  • 240 g tub cottage cheese
  • 10 ml thyme, chopped
  • 200 ml cold water
  • 15 ml oil
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan and brown chicken cubes
  2. Add mushrooms and fry for 5 min
  3. Mix sachet contents with 200 ml milk and 200 ml water and add to the chicken together with the thyme

  • 2 sachets Knorr Pasta & Sauce - Wild Mushroom, Garlic & Black Pepper
  • 125 ml grated Cheddar cheese
  • 60 ml margarine
  • 250 ml milk
  • 15 ml oil
  • 1 x 420 g tin cream style sweetcorn
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 750 ml water
  • 650 g mince
Instructions
  1. Cook the pasta & sauce according to instructions on the sachet, using the margarine, milk and water
  2. Fry the onion and mince together in heated cooking oil until mince is browned and onion soft
  3. Stir in sweetcorn
  4. Place prepared pasta & sauce in a greased ovenproof baking dish
  5. Top with the mince mixture and then sprinkle with grated cheese
  6. Bake at 180°C for 20–25 min until cheese has melted

  • 50 g fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 15 ml mixed dried herbs
  • 60 ml flour
  • 125 ml milk
  • 30 ml margarine
  • 125 ml Knorr Braai Sauce (optional)
  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • 15 ml oil
  • 310 ml water
  • 1 x 139 g box Knorr Macaroni & Cheese
    Instructions
  1. Combine breadcrumbs, mince, onion, egg, dried herbs and seasoning
  2. Roll into 20 balls, coating in flour
  3. Refrigerate for 10 min before frying in batches in hot oil
  4. Place the milk, boiling water and margarine in a saucepan and bring to the boil Add the contents of the sauce sachet and macaroni sachet and simmer for 10 min, stirring occasionally
  5. Remove from heat, cover and stand for 2 min
  6. Roll the meatballs in Knorr Braai Sauce and serve over macaroni

  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) margarine
  • 125 ml chopped ham
  • 310 ml water
  • 65 ml grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 125 ml milk
Instructions
  1. Prepare the pasta and sauce using the margarine, milk and water according to sachet instructions
  2. Allow to cool for 5 min
  3. Stir in the beaten egg and chopped ham
  4. Divide the mixture between 4 small or 2 large (depending on the ages of your children) greased ramekin dishes
  5. Top with a slice or two of tomato and sprinkle with cheese
  6. Bake at 180°C for 8–10 min until heated through
